What is Lactobacillus / Acerola Cherry Fermen and what are free radicals?
The bright red cherries are known for their exceptionally high natural vitamin C content. Through fermentation with Lactobacillus, they neutralize free radicals on contact with the skin. Free radicals are aggressive molecules, some of which are naturally occurring in the skin, which are missing an electron. In order to stabilize themselves, they snatch this electron from another molecule in the skin, which in turn becomes a free radical itself and starts a chain reaction. The ferment in the fruit prevents this and boosts collagen production, thus maintaining the skin’s elasticity. With its soothing, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties, acerola cherry ferment combats irritation while improving the appearance of the skin, leaving it hydrated, supple and with a radiant complexion.
